On 05.02.2022, the opening ceremony of the “Cigir” public union’s project “Promoting a reading culture among youth and adolescents”, which was awarded a small grant in the competition of the Agency for State Support to NGOs took place.
The opening ceremony, which took place in the conference hall of Youth Foundation, was attended by many guests including the board of “Cigir” public union, a representative of the Ministry of Culture, employees of the National Academy of Sciences, publishing houses such as “Parlaq Imzalar”, “Silk Road”, “TEAS Press”, “Libra Kitab”, “Kitabchi” bookshop, writers such as Aziz Sultan, Amin Orujov, Azerbaijani media – Eurasia Diary, librarians and dozens of young volunteers.
At the ceremony, the guests got acquainted with the planned stages of the project which will be implemented across different provinces, and they expressed their ideas and positive impressions. Various videos produced by volunteers about the reading projects and competitions organised by “Cigir” since 2015 were presented to the audience.
Project organisers Yegana Mirzayeva, Sevinj Mamiyeva, Gulnar Rustamova, Gunel Alakbarova, Imdad Karimli and Elbay Aliyev informed the guests about the stages of the project and the importance of it for our country. The opening ceremony ended with the heartfelt words of the guests about “Cigir”’s promotion of a reading culture among young people and adolescents.
